Requiem For A Dream (2000) DVD
As powerful an anti-drug jeremiad as it is a drama, director Darren Aronofsky's ("Pi") visually hypnotic film graphically tracks the downward spiral of four Brooklyn residents: heroin addicts and would-be dealers Jared Leto and Marlon Wayans; Leto's girlfriend, fellow junkie and aspiring fashion designer Jennifer Connelly; and Ellen Burstyn, Leto's TV-obsessed mother who turns to diet pills when she thinks she's been picked to appear on her favorite show.
